Without going into the underlying story of the “Turtles” EP, I will just focus on the opening track, Happy BDay. There was a general feeling in my 20’s when I was living hard and fast. My feeling at the time was I probably would not make it out of my 30’s alive. Approaching one of my birthdays way past my 30th, I reflected back on that time. This opening track attempts to capture my post 30’s state of mind. Hopefully the lyric “****” seems a bit less sinister in this light.
The track that follows “Bonus Time” is a continuation on that thought but more on that in another post.
